Just moments before the Harper’s BAZAAR runway show at last week’s Melbourne Fashion Festival I raced backstage to take a closer look at the ornate makeup looks for the evening. Under the direction of the L’Oreal Paris Makeup Director Elsa Morgan the backstage crew scattered gold pigment at the outer corner of of the eye for a delicate beauty finish. This beauty trend certainly complemented the sophisticated pieces from the likes of Alex Perry, Ellery, sass and bide, Arthur Galan AG and Yeojin Bae.
Saturday evening’s National Graduate Showcase saw the models take to the runway with gold power brows. This trend elevated the showcased collections from the 12 hand-picked emerging designers. The gold brow was initially created by the world-famous makeup artist Pat McGrath for the Dior spring ’14 show. For the runway-ready look, Pat went to town backstage with glue and gold pigment, until the models’ brows actually looked likes 24k jewellery. We’ve got a rad tutorial over at Get The Look to master this look at home- go forth!
VAMFF Day 2 outfit also features above- Carla Zampatti suit jacket, Bianca Spender pants & Tony Biano shoes, Kookai clutch.
